whats the craic!
Hey there! We’re Kyle and Amber, a couple (of legends) from Belfast, Northern Ireland and this is our travel blog. We named ourselves aweedander because where we come from, everything is a wee something! A wee cuppa tea, a wee night out, a wee movie and so on. Starting off as an instagram account to document two months of travel through Europe in 2023, we decided to bring our adventures to the big (and wee) screens through this blog.
We hope to inspire like-minded people and non travel enthusiasts to take that leap into the scary world of leaving home to see the beauty of different cultures, people, food and countries. We firmly believe that travel is the most important, and best way to spend your hard-earned money and limited time on this vast adventure we call life.
From the huge dunes of the sahara desert, to the sheer mountains of the swiss alps and soon to the untouched beauty of New Zealand, we hope that our stories can resonate with you all and light a flame of travel within your soul, because what better way to spend your life than to laugh in different languages and dance to different sounds?!

Upcoming travel
In November this year we take on our greatest adventure. Moving to New Zealand for a year of work and travel, beginning in the countries North Island before heading to its South Island for the start of the wine harvesting season! We hope to uncover a year of beautiful memories and discover what makes this country the last great wilderness of its kind on Earth.
Along the way we will be documenting every nook and cranny we believe to be a fascinating story, from tips and tricks and budget-travel cheats, to the best of the countries scenery and its famous hospitality. Every day will be a story and we hope to inspire many of you to take that leap, whether it be New Zealand or to another destination, of leaving home for a year of travel, growth and inspiration.
Before we embark on this adventure however, we’ll be spending ten days in Thailand – our first time in Asia! Sure to be an incredible adventure into stunning street food, beautiful wildlife and chaotic nightlife, make sure to keep an eye out for these posts, coming late November!
